Audi Electric Vehicle owners in California are eligible for an array of benefits, including access to the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane. Due to its requirement for use, the HOV lane sees less congestion leading to higher average speeds and decreased commute times.

HOV Eligible Audi EVs
Several Audi electric and plug-in hybrid models qualify for HOV use with a Clean Air Vehicle (CAV) decal. Due to their low emissions efficient energy use, the following models are eligible:
- E-Tron 55 Quattro and Sportback Quattro
- E-Tron S and S Sportback (20", 21" and 22" wheels)
- E-Tron GT and RS E-Tron GT
- Q4 E-Tron
- Q4 E-Tron 50 Quattro and Sportback Quattro
- Q5 TFSIE
How To Apply For a CAV Decal
You can easily apply for a CAV decal with your local DMV. Before starting the process, be sure your Audi EV is on the approved list and then follow these steps:
- Navigate to the California DMV website and locate the Clean Vehicle application
- Fill out the application and print
- Mail the completed form and fee to the address located on the application
Once the DMV processes your application, they will send you a decal and identification card which will allow you to use the HOV lane. Please note that this decal must only be used with the vehicle it is registered to.
